| Positive parenting training activities |

In mid-November 2009, the first training activities of a project targeted at positive parenting supported by the State of the Netherlands represented by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the Republic of Lithuania. 17 participants from Alytus, Kazlų Rūda, Lazdijai, Pagėgiai, Šiauliai, Šilutė, Trakai, Ukmergė, and Varėna took part in the training in Birstonas. The four-day theoretical and practical training exposed the participants - social workers and social pedagogues to a variety of techniques for teaching parents parental skills. The second part of the training targeted at recruitment of volunteers from a community to support parents and young families will take place in March 2010. Partners of this project and the trainings are: Public Establishment „Children Support Centre“, and a Netherlands organization “Expertisecentrum JSO” (Expertisecentrum for Youth, Society and Upbringing). Lecturers are the following experts: a psychologist Karin van Assen, a community-issues expert and a founder of the „Community Change Centre“ Jolanta Blažaitė, a psychologist and Director of the „Children Support Centre“ Aušra Kurienė, and a psychologist Hendrikus JM Spanjaard. |
